Asian Education Index (AEI)

1. Open Access Commitment

Asian Education Index (AEI) is an open access digital repository committed to the free, immediate, and unrestricted availability of educational and academic content. All materials hosted in AEI are made openly accessible to users worldwide without financial, legal, or technical barriers.

2. Creative Commons 0 (CC BY 0) License

Unless otherwise stated, all content deposited in the Asian Education Index is released under the Creative Commons Zero (CC BY 0) 1.0 Universal license.

Under CC BY 0, contributors waive all copyright and related rights to the extent permitted by law. This allows anyone to:

  • Copy, download, and share the material
  • Modify, adapt, and build upon the material
  • Use the material for commercial or non-commercial purposes
  • Distribute the material without seeking permission
Note: No attribution is required, though citation is encouraged as a best academic practice.

3. Author & Depositor Responsibilities

By submitting content to AEI, the depositor confirms that:

  • They are the copyright holder, OR
  • The content is already in the public domain, OR
  • They have the legal right to apply CC BY 0 to the material

Depositors must ensure that submitted content:

  • Does not infringe copyright
  • Does not violate privacy or confidentiality
  • Does not include restricted or sensitive information

AEI reserves the right to remove content that violates these conditions.

4. User Rights

Users of Asian Education Index are free to:

  • Access and download content without registration
  • Reuse, redistribute, and remix materials
  • Incorporate content into educational, research, or commercial works

There are no restrictions on reuse under CC BY 0.

5. Metadata Open Access

All metadata records in AEI are released under CC BY 0, enabling unrestricted harvesting, indexing, and reuse by search engines, aggregators, and discovery services via OAI-PMH.

6. Preservation & Access

AEI uses DSpace for:

  • Long-term digital preservation
  • Persistent identifiers
  • Secure storage and access

Open access content will remain publicly available for long-term use.

7. Disclaimer

While AEI promotes open access, it does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of deposited content. Responsibility for the content rests solely with the authors or depositors.

8. Policy Review

This Open Access Policy may be updated periodically to ensure compliance with legal and technical standards. Updated versions will be published on this website.
