In contemporary linguistics, toponymy occupies a distinct and significant position among the branches of onomastic studies. Within the lexical structure of a language, toponymic units are recognized as an independent stratum functioning both in the literary language and in dialectal vocabulary. The continuous development and renewal of toponymic systems lead to the emergence of new geographical names, which, in turn, contribute to the enrichment of the overall lexical fund of the language. The present article examines agronyms as one of the central subdivisions of toponymy and explores the linguocultural characteristics of English agronyms through illustrative examples
