Translation is a complicated process. Translators have to solve many problems and difficulties while reproducing the closest natural equivalent of the source-language message in the receptor language. Since no two languages are identical, either in the meanings given to corresponding symbols or in the ways in which such symbols are arranged in phrases and sentences. That’s why, translation, which aims at conveying a message from the SL into the TL, is often accompanied by many linguistic problems. And calque – is one way of solving linguistic problems of translation.
