The poet (Maimon bin Qais), known as Al-Asha Al-Kabir, is considered one of the first-class poets of the pre-Islamic era. Studies, research and writings abounded about this poet, so this study came as a review of what was previously discussed by researchers, critics, historians and others regarding this poet, so it dealt with a quick presentation of the most prominent results that I reached. These studies are related to his life, then his poetic purposes, then his tools and the characteristics of his poetry, each according to its direction and research and deductive potential and evaluated by the extent to which it is able to provide benefits to those who benefit from it, The review used the analytical approach and yielded many results, most notably the variation in length and brevity of the titles, and the variation in the elements of its studied reference material, which was divided into literary, critical, rhetorical, linguistic, musical, and other studies. The amount of benefit from it and its results also varied, in addition to the variation in the material presented and the multiplicity of research possibilities for this study, This review also proved that Al-A’sha’s poetry is considered a rich resource for students of history, previous countries and nations, kings and civilization, and he is credited with providing the Arabic language with all new words and helping it to grow and flourish, and due to their multiplicity and easy access to many of them, which demonstrated the urgent need to collect their results in a review. One research paper, in the hope that it will be a good source in supplying the literary library with everything useful and valuable to serve it and researchers.
