dc.description.abstract	The article attempts to illustrate the notion of sociological portrait as a distinct subtype of the more general notion of portrait. The general notion of portrait dissected into subtypes, and their descriptions are given. This provides opportunity to see the key aspects and characteristics of the notion of sociological portrait, which is one of the components constituting the general notion of portrait. Moreover, the comparative analysis of the types of portraits is also provided
