dc.description.abstractThis study examined perception on innovations and adaptations in the teaching and learning of Political Science in Nigeria in Covid-19 pandemic landscape. Descriptive survey design was adopted. The population for this study was Political Science Lecturers in Colleges of Education in Oyo, Oyo State. A total of fifty (50) respondents were selected from the five (5) Schools under the study using random sampling technique. The instrument used for the study was questionnaire tagged “Questionnaire on Lecturers’ Perception on Innovation and Adaptation in Political Science Classroom during Covid-19 Pandemic Era in Colleges of Education (QLPIAPSCCE)”. The data collected through the questionnaire were analyzed using simple descriptive statistic. The instrument was validated with reliability coefficient of 0.75.The finding revealed that the Political Science lecturers in Colleges of Education have positive and right perceptions of innovation and adaptation application. The result also showed that the problem of inadequate facilities in schools, poor innovation and adaptation policy implementation strategy and so on were affecting the effective application of innovation and adaptation in the teaching and learning. The study therefore recommends that there is a need to reform higher education sector in Nigeria in order to equip the teachers and the learners with the needed requisite training in handling the innovation (Virtual or online class).It was concluded that teaching-learning during and after this pandemic demands for accessibility of computer, Android phones and Internet facilities.
