dc.description.abstractIn world linguistics, the main task has been to determine the functions of abbreviations, their vocabulary and replacement of compound names, to describe the ways of occurrence of abbreviations in a typological aspect, to scientifically substantiate the aspects of abbreviations to convey meaning in compound names, to study their use in formal, artistic and journalistic styles. This article presents a linguistic substantiation of the use of abbreviations in English and Uzbek social networks, the development of a method of using abbreviations in compacting such texts.
