Uzbek Speech Etiquette: Sen (You), Siz (You, You)

Abstract

This article examines speech etiquette in the Uzbek language using forms of address and incentive using the personal pronouns in the singular and plural (sen-ty; and siz-vy, you;). The article identifies and highlights the specifics of their use in speech situations between parents and children, between spouses, etc.; and demonstrates differences in the use of the same etiquette expressions by speakers of different dialects of the Uzbek language.
